Are they like space Illuminati? Getting into various important positions and then basically controlling the planet as a slave world for their home world?
That is the only way I understand Earth "joining."

Rd Ashes
Well, how they control the planet depends on what planet it is.
That's all I'm saying right now. ;-)

Besides, Earth doesn't even really know that it's "joining" the Dyerin family yet. ;-)
SURPRISE EARTH!!! :-o

Ah, ok. So if it does not know then it is a public thing?
Illuminati deconfirmed.

Rd Ashes
Oh yes. Very public.
Planet Zho-van "joined" the Dyerin family, as well.

The planet used to be called Resso.
In an earlier comment I said that "Zho" means playground.
Well… the word "van" means conquered.

Does it involve purging those who do not have the right energy to join?
I mean you have so many people on Earth considering it is a very public thing.

If I were to hazard a guess, those entities with the "infinity strand" are somewhat rare, indeed. If you compare this story to another well-known Science-Fiction yarn, I would equate the Mahjite to Yoda-level Jedi Masters, and the Elite to regular Jedi Knights.

I would not expect that entire planetary populations to be purged, simply because they don't have the infinity strand. I mean, SOMEBODY has to do all the work to support the conquerors, right?

Slaves then.

Time to pack my things!

You're absolutely right, Sig, the Infinity Strand is rare. Your analogy is pretty accurate, except that any person can be inducted into The Line, you don't need to have the "infinity strand".
It's just that when you DO have the infinity strand, you become an "Elite" member.

The Mahjite strive to induct as many Elite as they can find onto their team and only induct as many other people as they can carefully control.
And carefully control them, they do.

The rest of the population? Well, you'll find out.
Let's just say that it depends on what planet you're on and who rules that planet.

You might not have to pack your things just yet Madjak.
I mean look at this cheering crowd on Zho-van, how bad could it be?

I've just gotta say, I feel absolutely honoured that you guys are picking up on these things and asking questions! Thank you. :-)
It really helps me a lot to know what you're understanding and what questions you have.

RD, you need to start lying to your audience more. And turn on moderation. Also start deleting comments--today I pruned something like four of MadJaks and most of Sigpig's.

You might blanche at such harsh control of my comments section, but Boss-level skills like that have made me the multinational success that I am today. :)

Whut?! So is there a Dyerlin glossary on the Dyerin Wikia? You've really put some thunkin' into this.

Nah, just some chatter in the comments and that character page.

I'm going to work on the extra info though.
It'll help ME, even if no one ever reads it!

Right? I mean, let's face it: we make these things for ourselves. If other people like it, wonderful! But some nights I find myself writing more about my comics than writing my comics.

Keep reading to see if "Earth" can hold it's own in this challenge.
