PAGE 30 and one day early!

I think I'll go on a bit of an accelerated update schedule while I can manage it. I have a bit of a buffer and I want to kill it!
I like to live on the edge.

Next update tomorrow!

Is that good or bad?
That's why I posted it as an extra page today.
I'll actually, probably update every day this week.

You already done watching the election coverage?

o_O

That was a "good" comment. It really helps with the pacing of the story.

Liberal majority, I predicted a Minority with either the Libs or Cons, but I didn't expect this. On another note - the Blue Jays won tonight as well.

Oh - there is a certain movie trailer that I totally geeked out to...

Which trailer?!? A certain movie that's coming out soon and there's merch for it EVERYWHERE right now?

I was surprised by the majority gov't as well.
And, hey, another Prime Minister Trudeau, who woulda thunk it?

Thank goodness the Jays won. No one needed to waste their beers tonight. ;-)

Hahahaha, as you'll see, not the right music for THESE people.
Maybe more like "eye of the tiger".

What is actually the purpose of the leaders watching?
The most logical one is simply watching their team perform and boast.

But is this also about power struggle? Like their kind of elections to go with the current topic.
Or maybe transferring Line members like sports teams?
Not sure if one leader can transfer a member though considering their energy color bind and such.

MJ, you talkin' about the comic or the Canadian election or the baseball playoffs?

I'm confused.

The.... comic?
Just using what is going on as examples.

I know they are watching their team to destroy any other team but I might have missed some other details.
If it also means the victor is going to be the next ruler or something.

And if they can trade team members.
Hopefully, the contract is more than a crappy lunch.

Sigh, I cannot articulate myself at all with what I want to ask here -_-;

Time to turn on the brainometer...

I think that the Games are this culture's "Bread and Circuses", with which the Planetary Leaders (Mahjite) have their teams engage in ritualized combat for the enjoyment of the "great unwashed". Of course, there's going to be politics involved (I'm not so sure that Selena disqualifying her team was accidental), but it is mostly about status within the Mahjite.

Without knowing the inter-stellar transport or communications systems, the Games may be the only time that all the Mahjite (or at least the Planetary Leaders) assemble as a group to confer face-to-face.

I don't think that there is any "trading" of Team members between the Mahjite, as Rd has already stated that the Mahjite are VERY controlling of their Elite members (as well as their CFS) as well as their "own" planets/spheres of influence. I do, however, expect this "conference" to be full of intrigue (think Rome), and not be as benign as the fabled "Jedi Council" in that other Sci-Fi franchise... lol

Makes sense.

Like a really glorified meeting because they probably would not meet with just a bottle of wine and chips.
Thanks. I can see that.

True. Though I would not be surprised of some backstabbing by forcefully converting another better member to your own cause.

The Sigbrain has it. The Games are basically a PR thing for The Line as a whole. A way to gain points with the "unwashed masses".

There are shady dealings a-plenty when it comes to the Mahjite, but not within this petty forum (so don't expect much from this "conference").

The Mahjite DO have formal assemblies, on Dyerin, where there are indeed better things served than wine and chips. ;-)
We will see those, but not today.

The interstellar transport and communication systems are to be revealed in the next few pages. :-)

And there is NO trading of team members between Mahjite.
They have strict rules that govern their members, but also themselves, and they all adhere strictly to them (yeah, right).
Though they sometimes work together… as you'll see.
